We all have different gifts.

The gifts we have received are not ours alone. God gave them to us for the purpose of serving Him and serving other people. Each of us has something to give.

We can give our money and our time to charity, be a friend to someone who is sick or lonely, do volunteer work, or be a peacemaker, teacher or minister.

We may give unselfishly of our time to our spouse, children or parents. We may choose a service-oriented occupation, or we may just do our everyday jobs with integrity and respect for others.

HOW WE GIVE

What a blessing it is to give and receive, to share and support.

We dedicate these gifts to all that we stand for as a community of

faith and to the work of our congregation.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS : Every child of God is filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, specially gifted to play a unique and valued role in the body of Christ. No one is without gift or purpose.  Spiritual gifts are not our talents or skills. They are the grace of God at work within us, empowering us to match our deep passions with the world’s deep need. The gifts are given to individuals, but they are given to build and strengthen community and to meet the needs of those around us.

  •   UMC Ministries :  Connectional giving — all of us giving together — allows United Methodists to do together what we cannot do alone.

The United Methodist Church's special giving structure ensures your generosity blesses as many people as possible in sustainable, strategic ways. Connectional giving — all of us giving together across the United Methodist connection of churches — enables us to do more than we could do as individuals.

  • The UMC Market:  With UMC Market, you can donate to St. Mark's UMC  through your daily purchases, with NO extra cost to you. This is a service available through the General Council on Finance and Administration’s Corporate Sponsorships Office that will partner corporate non-profit support programs with St. Mark's UMC. Online shoppers open an account (it takes less than 2 minutes) and then do their normal online shopping. Purchases from corporate partners will qualify for a percentage contribution to the local church that the shopper chose during set up.

  • Employer Matching: Many employers match gifts of employee donations to charity.  Find out whether your/your spouse's employer will match charitable gifts by viewing this list of companies which matching gift programs.  If your employer does, please carefully follow the procedures provided by your employer for Matching Gifts. If your company is not listed, please check with your employer about their matching gift program.

Every United Methodist can support the vital ministries they care about.

Deuteronomy 16:17 – "Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which He has given you."
